Reed & Jyll

Reed

I come from a unique family--the kind of family that practically requires a tour guide to get through the family tree! My biological parents met as widowers, having lost their spouse due to illness. Combined, they had four little boys from their first marriages. After they were married they had three more children, making seven children total. I am the middle child of the three they had together. It has always seemed as though we children belonged together, even though we don’t really look like it. I didn’t even realize I was in a “blended” family until I was a teenager. That is when I understood that families can experience true, deep love without blood relationships. As a child I was very active and a challenge for my mother. I loved to play games, spend time outdoors, and mimic my older brothers. My favorite childhood activity was going camping with my family. In high school I wanted to be involved in everything. I was on the soccer team, swim team, and water polo team. I played the bass in the orchestra and held student government positions. I have been told that I am a thoughtful, driven, organized, and fun adult. After graduating from high school, I went to college in Salt Lake City, UT. After recieving my Associates Degree, I served a mission in England for 18 months. And absolutely loved it! I love the people there and am so grateful for the spiritual growth I gained while serving. After my mission, I applied to Dental Hygiene schools all over the nation. I met Reed during the process. We were married and moved to upstate New York, where I went to Dental Hygiene school. After graduating, I worked full-time as a Dental Hygienist for a few years, and now I have scaled back my hours to two or three days per month.
