Reed & Jyll

Reed

I come from a more traditional family. I have two brothers and four sisters. My oldest sister is handicapped and in a wheelchair due to a condition she has had since infancy. This created many unique situations for us. Even though some situations were challenging, it ultimately taught me understanding and tolerance. When I was in Junior High, I had an uncle pass away. His son was basically adopted into our family. He is two years older than me, and I was excited to gain an older brother. We are all very close, and there is an over-arching feeling of acceptance. Our family frequently welcomed extended family members and/or friends to stay with us. I can’t remember very many times when there wasn’t someone living with our family. Everyone who comes into contact with us leaves as friends. I was a very quiet, obedient, curious, focused, and loving child. I loved to work on computers and create videos, creating hours of homemade animation videos. In school I was very shy, I had a small group of friends. Throughout high school, I threw the shot put on the track and field team and really enjoyed it. I even made a shot put ring in my backyard so I could practice at home! During my senior year, I started to come out of my shell and broke through my shyness barrier a bit, thanks to a good friend. After high school, I served a two-year mission in Mexico. I loved it so much that I have been back to visit a number of times. After my mission, I went to college in Salt Lake City, UT. It seems these experiences furthered my desire to be sociable. Now others describe me as an outgoing, loving, fun, creative adult. I love movies, photography, music, and playing soccer. I still have a love for creating things on the computer which led me to my career. I attended a prestigious Graphic Arts program at Brigham Young University and now work as a Graphic Designer and create projects professionally.
